Senior Scrum Master

SNCB is looking for a highly experienced Senior Scrum Master to join our software development team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in driving the team towards delivering high-value, high-quality products while adhering to Agile principles and practices. Your primary responsibilities will include coaching the team in Agile methodologies, facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, and fostering collaboration within and across teams. Additionally, you will work closely with the Back-end team to ensure delivery and assess impacts on other assets. We are looking for a natural leader with proven experience in Scrum practices and a passion for driving excellence in software development.

Responsibilities:

Accountabilities to the Development Team:

  • Collaborate with the development team to produce high-value and high-quality products
  • Actively participate in unblocking the team and removing impediments to ensure smooth progress of development activities
  • Organize and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including the daily Scrum, sprint planning, retrospective meetings, etc.
  • Coach the team on Agile ways of working, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Assist the team in consistently adhering to relevant engineering practices to maintain product quality and reliability

Accountabilities to the Organization:

  • Work closely with other teams within the organization to facilitate delivery and ensure alignment of objectives
  • Collaborate with the Back-end team to assess impacts on other assets and coordinate dependencies effectively

Your profile

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Scrum Master for a software development team, following Scrum principles
  • Proficiency in using JIRA for project management and agile development processes
  • Natural leadership abilities with a knack for building trust and connecting with team members effortlessly
  • Mastery of communication and coaching techniques to effectively guide the team towards achieving its goals
  • Strong teamwork, communication, stress management, and initiative-taking skills
  • Experience and expertise in conflict resolution, continuous improvement, accountability, and increased transparency
  • Ability to work effectively with off-shore developers and manage distributed teams
  • Proficiency in English (fluent) and either Dutch or French
  • Enthusiastic team player with a genuine interest in web technologies and emerging trends
  • Takes ownership of tasks and initiatives, demonstrating assertiveness and charisma
  • Leads by example, demonstrating strong business acumen and strategic thinking
