IT Application Resilience Officer

The IT Application Resilience Officer will be expected to liaise with the corporate Resilience governance function to ensure continued alignment with the corporate strategy and the DTI IT Resilience initiatives.

Scope of responsibilities

  • You translate the Proximus Business Continuity strategy and policies into application-specific resilience requirements and standards covering all areas inside the IT department, authoring and ensuring compliance with resilience by design guidelines and the relevant criteria's and ensure they are being prioritized and implemented in our environment
  • You are responsible for the development and management of an application resilience improvement plan, covering all areas in the department, working cross divisional
  • You are critical to ensure resilience is a cornerstone in the strategy and ongoing program planning across the IT departments.
  • You will ensure a coherent approach across the IT Departments regarding resilience and prioritizing the initiatives.
  • You define the identification and classification of critical IT assets (in accordance with corporate guidelines and standards).
  • You evaluate and provide guidance to IT management regarding the adequacy of the resilience controls on the IT technology systems, and ensure the implementation of appropriate technical safeguards, taking into consideration the acceptable risks level defined by the business.
  • You support definition of IT resilience objectives in line with the business objectives and the governance requirements, making sure that the application technologies meet both. Therefore, you contribute to define resilience strategy & metrics, reporting metrics and providing a roadmap including both short term and long-term objectives.
  • You act as primary resilience contact person for IT application resilience topics and be the interface to contact persons within each team/technology inside the IT organisation and to other divisions; in particular, you keep IT Management directly informed on resilience issues and ensure appropriate follow-up of any corrective measure (Audit identified action points,…), taking them into consideration in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • You keep your knowledge up-to-date by following the trends in the market and pro-actively discuss with your peers for a best practice exchange around resilience.
  • You are the interface with other people in charge of resilience topics within the group

Profile:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication, Information Resilience or related discipline,
  • 10+ years' experience in network resilience/resilience architecture and 10+ years's experience in IT,
  • Strong knowledge of the principles, implementation, operation of resilience technology (active/active, always-on, failover capabilities, …),
  • Good knowledge of IT application architecture and technologies,
  • Have a sense of urgency to address resilience risks,
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effectively in a multiple technical disciplines' environment,
  • Hold the highest levels of personal and professional integrity,
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills,
  • Able to translate technical resilience risks into business risks and customer or user impact
  • Excellent influencing skills, ability to communicate with all levels, leadership skills,
  • Team player, ability to lead collaborative teams for large projects or cross divisional groups,
  • Flexible, and ability to work with other technical expert to set the best balance between resilience strategies and other priorities,
  • Open to fast changing new technologies,
  • Good knowledge of English,
  • You have experience with the agile methodology to contribute to project implementations
