As a senior Epic Owner, you have over 5 years of experience in guiding the epic under the Agile methodology :
- You guide the epic through the portfolio kanban;
- You are effective by collaborating with other roles, Agile Release Trains and teams;
During Preparation of the Epic
- You work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to define the epic;
- You work with development teams to size the epic and provide input for prioritization;
- You create the Lean business case and other relevant factors.
During Implementation of the Epic
- You define a roadmap: who, when, dependencies, deadlines, milestones...;
- You ask commitment from Agile Release Trains involved;
- You work collaboratively with Product Managers & System Architects from Agile Release Trains to split the epic into features;
- You help prioritize these backlog items in their respective ART backlogs;
- You participate in the Program Increment (PI) Planning and System Demo;
- You evaluate the delivered features against the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and epic business case at the end of every PI;
- You decide or ask decision on the continuation of the implementation of the epic at the end of every PI;
- You understand and report on the progress of the epic’s Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with key stakeholders and Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) through KPI's and leading indicators.
