CI/CD Engineer

The CI/CD engineer will be expected to contribute to the set-up of right tooling ecosystem for CICD and other DevOps necessities and to participate to the propagation of the DevOps way of working, also called the Business standards of Proximus.

Scope of responsibilities

As part of the CI/CD team in the context of Agile methodology, we expect each team member to be part of the global solution. For this on top of the classical development knowledge we would like you, the candidate, to be able to do or to learn the following request.

  • You're able to design tech-driven solutions based on Epic/Use cases/features/user stories communicated by the product owner; to implement the solutions and then to provide or oversee support once the technology is up and running.
  • You will interact with the product owner & the stakeholders. You should be able to plan the work based on priorities & ranks in the backlog.
  • You are able to acquire a helicopter view of all the components supported by the team.
  • You will work with the team members in any of their problem. This implies a good knowledge of the different technologies used throughout the different applications supported by the CI/CD team.
  • You are able to communicate at different level with stake: solution definition & support. This part requires the capacity to go to very low-level details while keeping the helicopter view and understanding the functional aspects.
  • You will have to participate to the development, the support and maintenance of the toolset and the development packaging together with the team.
  • You keep your knowledge up to date by following the trends in the market and pro-actively discuss with your peers for a best practice exchange around CI/CD.
  • You work in the framework of the Proximus Agile way of working, ensuring the collaboration with all the stakeholders and other key contacts (Product owner & Scrum master).
 

 

Profile

  • Experience of 3-5 years is required in CI/CD domains
  • Bachelor or master's degree in Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Technical skills: strong knowledge of CI/CD ecosystem and experience on Jenkins, Maven, Java JDK, Openshift, GIT, gitlab, .Nodejs, mpn, Nexus, Linux/BASH or Technical knowledge on .NET, PowerShell, Visual studio, C#, VB. NET, AzureDevOps, scripting, Windows server, IIS
  • Knowledge/experience with agile/scrum/ DevOps best practices and trends
  • Good communication skills covering all aspects: management, planning, functional and technical. You can adapt level of detail for complex technical subjects according to the audience and always try to give a clear global picture of the issues discussed based on a full helicopter view understanding. Assertiveness with diplomacy is also key in all the discussions with many stakeholders: other IT teams & Operational teams.
  • Keep in mind the vision, analysing a requirement for a project must always be done with the vision of making changes re-usable in the future as a generic new capacity.
  • You are eager to learn new techniques/technologies.
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Comfort with scrum framework
  • Technical development capabilities- specific to ci/cd
  • Dealing with ambiguity & priority
