TV Solution Integrator

A job at Proximus? You'll find that everything revolves around the idea 'Think Possible'. This means: we always assume that something is possible, even if it seems impossible. Well, especially so, actually. Call it a way of thinking that involves being open to a world of digital solutions that make our lives easier. And our way of working smarter.

We are looking for a high-profile engineer who will work in the Proximus TV department. This department has recently been reorganised according the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) blueprint.

He/she will be part of the System Team inside the Proximus TV department. One of the main tasks of the System Team according SAFe is the setup of the test environment by integrating all the separate components to a working solution. This test environment is used to perform integration tests as well as a rehearsal for the installation or upgrade of the configuration in production environment.

Another important task of the System Team in Proximus TV is the setup of remote connectivity, such that offshore partners can perform testing activities on distance.

Execution of complex integration tests and test automation are also important tasks of the System Team.

His/her main tasks will be:

  • To understand the complete Proximus TV architecture in depth. This includes the knowledge gathering of Cloud computing, since the newest version of the Proximus TV Backend will be implemented on Proximus' Telco Cloud.
  • To guide and actively participate in setting up test environments
  • To explore all technical possibilities for remote access to test environments and implement the best of them
  • To design and support the setup of automated testing. The writing of automated test scripts and the execution of these scripts will be done by other System Team members.
  • To think about the best ways to depict the current status of the test environments, e.g. by installing dashboards
  • To help debugging problems when setting up or maintaining the test environments.
  • To help in documenting the work of the System Team and participate in knowledge sharing
  • To interact with many people inside and outside the System Team when setting up new solutions or debug complex problems
  • To Support Product Owner and Scrum master of the System Team in the best way

We are looking for a Master in Industrial or Engineering Sciences, with 5-10 professional experience in IT or telecom environment, preferably TV/Media environment.

General skills which are indispensable for this function are:

  • Technical orientation
  • Analytic skills, capable to analyze complex new requirements and translate them in an implementation plan
  • Synthetic skills, capable to clearly communicate about the status and the next steps
  • Document writing skills, capable of writing clear and comprehensive documents
  • Presentation and moderation skills, capable of leading technical meetings with colleagues from own and other teams
  • Motivating skills
  • Self-learning
  • Self-organizing
  • Fluently understanding and speaking English and at least 1 other national language (Dutch or French) is a must.

Especially important for this function is the general mindset:

  • Eager of exploring new domains by self-study, trial and error, and interacting with specialists in and outside the own team
  • Persistent in debugging difficult problems, individual or in team
  • Considering the right moment for management escalation versus autonomously solving problems
  • Stir up enthusiasm
  • Motivate and encourage people in other teams to work together
  • Acting as an example of a growth mindset

Naturally we have a competitive salary package for you. But there is so much more!

  • We are 100% Belgian. So we make decisions in three languages. And all at the same time if you like!
  • We are open to everyone: M, W, X, and in fact all the other letters of the alphabet.
  • We encourage personal growth. At the Proximus Academy, you won't even want to miss a session.
  • We are, of course, committed to sustainability. What else did you think?
  • We firmly believe that working together is important, but that having fun together is even more so. That is why we regularly organise fun activities. (Please let us know if you have a talent for playing Santa Claus!)
  • We believe in responsibility. Also in yours. For example, you can take it to launch your own initiatives.
  • We put our customers first. And because we are all customers somewhere, you already know what that means. That's good.
  • And the ever-important work-life balance? We keep it in the right place.

In a nutshell … We offer you a job full of opportunities to grow and learn, a job that will push you forward, as you shape the digital future with us. And in doing so, you might achieve more than you thought possible. Are you a professional who thinks like this? Someone who sees solutions where others only see obstacles. Then you are a talent that can still grow with us. Every day.
