Technical Account Manager

The local company was established in April 2017 in order to have a formal structure for the Benelux. The office is currently a 2-man operation. They are looking for a Technical Account Manager which is a technical sales role. The function reports to the Sales Manager Benelux.

Core tasks:

  • Implementing and realizing the FY20 marketing and business plan
  • Give preference to activities that have a direct and upward impact on the business
  • Focus and commitment to ensure continuity with existing customers
  • Organizing sufficient customer agreements (existing and new) to support business growth
  • Focus on the different product lines, i.e. T&M, A&D, AUTO, LD, TMS, IMI and ENERGY with the aim of further developing them
  • Guarantee for customer satisfaction
  • Accurate and timely reporting (according to set schedule) of a monthly forecast with opportunities greater than 10 k $ to the Sales Manager Benelux
  • Monthly analysis of the business including the highlights of the past month as well as the projections for the 3 coming months
  • Make permanent and timely input of data and data with regard to business information, opportunities, leads, customers, quotes, changes, etc. via Salesforce in order to ensure smooth follow-up and promote information retrieval
  • Performing other tasks that company may reasonably require from time to time

Daily tasks:

  • Focus will be on industrial clients
  • Manage the sales cycle from demand to order
  • Providing high-quality technical support to customers and colleagues
  • Focus on continuity - retain and develop existing customers, find and develop new customers
  • Make enough customer visits to make this happen (minimum 3 days per week).
  • Prompt and timely follow-up of requests received by mail or telephone calls
  • Reporting to the Sales Manager Benelux of useful info during customer visit
  • Supporting customers via telephone, email or visits
  • Formulating and proposing technical solutions
  • Preparation of tenders with the selected / suggested material
  • Follow-up from quotations to order and delivery
  • Answering technical questions
  • Constantly updating and updating the customer database (Sales Force)
  • Improve own product knowledge and applications
  • Assisting and participating in trade fairs in which the company is participating in consultation with the Sales Manager Benelux and the Marketing team, coordinate marketing activities and materials including website, advertisements and email blasts
  • Organization of presentations at customers
  • Monthly reporting: Forecast, visits, expenses
  • Quarterly reporting: Marketing, strategic updates
  • Annual reporting: Marketing and Business plan for the following year
  • All reports to be submitted to the International Sales Management team

The company operates in a technical / industrial B2B market. This is mostly the (electro-) mechanical industry.

  • Education: Belgian Industrial Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or any Engineering in Physics field with 2-5 years of work experience
  • Knowledge of physics and how machines work
  • Knowledge frequency analysis is a plus
  • Languages: Fluent Dutch and English is required, French is a plus
  • Self-starter behaviour, capable of working alone or in team context 
  • Curious and open mind
  • Sales oriented & result driven
  • Willing to travel up to 2 days in a week for client visits
  • Prior experience in a group subsidiary is a plus for leveraging the internal network
