Linux System Engineer

We are looking for a System Engineer who will structure and assist the needs of the Operational Technology (OT) department, configure group policies, operate computers and manage users according to their respective level.

Activities in Linux: 

  • You manage Red Hat Enterprise 7, ensuring that all services are available on an ongoing basis and all components are running continuously.
  • You fix performance issues of Linux and implement security solutions in Linux.
  • You manage the existing System-D services and develop new ones with a good knowledge of the System-D service dependency mechanism (After=, Wants=, Requires= ...).
  • You manage firewall rules in Red Hat Enterprise Linux via firewalld: you list firewalld services, add them, remove them and define new ones.
  • You configure Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) and troubleshoot problems in it (e.g. audit.log), knowing the existing SELinux policies and defining new ones.
  • You master Volume Manager (LVM), e.g. PV/VG/LV, adding/removing physical volumes, adding/removing/expanding volume groups, adding/removing/expanding logical volumes.

Activities in Windows: 

  • You configure services in Windows Server including DNS, NTP, Remote Desktop Services (RDS), volume management, file and printer sharing, high availability, clustering, backup and system recovery.
  • You solve problems related to Windows performance and Windows security.
  • You master Powershell.

Extra:

  • Perform minimal operations on Oracle Enterprise Database and/or MS SQL Server Database (monitoring, backup ...); 
  • Create and manage virtual machines on ESX (VMware);
  • Monitor and analyze the rules of firewalls, routers, VPNs and other security devices (using AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer).

 

Your profile:

  • You have a bachelor or master in ICT  or engineering degree.
  • You have at least five years of experience in the above-mentioned domains.
  • You have a broad knowledge of different infrastructure domains.
  • You are able to formally describe procedures, such as user manuals and disaster recovery procedures.
  • You are able to rebuild a system according to disaster recovery procedures.
  • You are customer oriented and always strive for satisfied customers.
  • You communicate openly, transparently and in a focused manner.
  • You have a pragmatic and flexible attitude.
  • You are fluent in French and Dutch. You master professional technical English;
  • An asset:  Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) certification.
  • An asset: Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) .
