Operations IT Specialist 

Your mission is to manage the operational platforms (hardware and software) and to analyze their functioning continuously, in order to improve, make them more reliable and automate.

To do this, you will have to carry out activities of incident and problem management, technical analyzes, programming and tests.

Incident and problem management

  • Continuously manage the operational platforms (hardware and software).
  • Intervene at level 2 and / or 3 in the management of incidents and problems.
  • During crisis management (priority 1 incidents), provide emergency solutions to ensure the continuity of operations. Coordinate these actions with other entities.
  • Track and document issues.
  • Research and implement sustainable solutions to guarantee high availability of IT operations.

Implementation of solutions

  • Evaluate the technical feasibility of the solutions to be implemented. Guarantee compliance with established standards.
  • Carry out technical achievements based on the functional files issued by the Change teams (analysts and developers).
  • Be responsible for operational files. Incorporate and detail, from end to end, all operational processes. Bring together all the associated documentation in order to be able to control all the computer applications delivered in production.
  • Review and ensure the quality of software components designed by developers
  • Participate in the technical and operational coordination of production deliveries (Release).
  • Participate as a technical expert on the Change Advisory Board (CAB)

Fundamental operational tasks

  • Master the environment (hardware and software) of IT operations.
  • Operational management of purely operational platforms such as mainframes, OPCON / xps, EOM UNISYS (Depcon), STAR1100, XEROX (VIP Server, DocuSp, etc.), Biztalk (Receive port & send port), departmental printing (GDD) ), etc.
  • Be responsible for emergency plans (DRP) of operational platforms and related documentation.

Field: Specificities related to IT planning

  • Create, coordinate IT production schedules with users. Ensure compliance with both technical and business requirements in order to guarantee users, both internal to Federal Insurance and external, the service requested within the agreed deadlines.
  • Manage planning-related incidents, measure their impacts and re-arrange this schedule in an emergency and if necessary provide definitive solutions.
  • Manage the daily schedule. Plan (integrate) work on ad hoc requests.
  • Participate in the technical and operational coordination of production deliveries (Release).
  • Have the expertise of the "Master Schedule" (Opcon) and develop the use of the tool. Maintain all the synoptics (VISIO flowchart) of batch applications and master the correct execution sequence of computer applications.

Your profile:

  • Ability to move from one subject to another at a glance, lead several projects in parallel by distributing his time adequately between them according to their importance and priority.
  • Able to continuously acquire the technical skills necessary to maintain its expertise in the areas of Infrastructure and Run Operations. This should make it possible to be the backup of other colleagues.
  • Certain expertise in the various purely operational platforms such as mainframes, OPCON / xps, EOM UNISYS (Depcon), STAR1100, XEROX (VIP Server, DocuSp, etc.), Biztalk (Receive port & send port), departmental printing (GDD) , etc.
  • Experience oriented Business procedures, IT process, planning thereof, with basic knowledge of programming (Scripts).
  • Good knowledge of .net script, Visual basic, PowerShell / SQL basic is an asset
  • Fluency in French or Dutch, and passive knowledge of the other language. Good knowledge of "technical" English.
