Improve existing app & portal (integrate new features) for managing an IOT robotics device

• Design, develop, code, test and debug a scalable application (smartphone) and portal (Web) for our robots;
• Integrate and validate your solution in the complete system : interactions with robots, server deployments,…;
• Develop and use application tools (software, test and debug modules, …) to monitor, analyze and optimize the performances of the fleet of the robots on the field;
• Assess third party and open source tools and libraries ;
• Work closely with the robot development team and commercials to define the content and technical solutions;
• Manage an API serving more than 5000 devices.

The client is a Belgian company and is a part of an international group. Based in Japan, the client is a global company with major markets in Japan and the Americas and a growing business presence in Europe, Asia, and other countries. The company manufactures and sells Outdoor Power Equipment, Agricultural machinery and Industrial machinery. The client is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The client has two business activities in Europe:

• Robotic mowers and golf ball pickers: the company is the world leader in commercial-scale automatic lawn mowers for large areas: we design, manufacture and sell robot mowers for turf areas up to 30,000 m2 and automatic ball pickers that collect golf balls on practices.

Belrobotics and ECHO Robotics robots are currently used across Europe to maintain sports facilities (football, rugby, golf courses), private gardens and large open spaces. As a full-fledged The Group company, we are intensifying our reach in Europe, and starting distributing our products and applications in North America, Japan and selected countries in the rest of the world.

• Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE): the company is the full-pledged distributor of ECHO and SHINDAIWA products across Europe, Africa and Middle East, taking responsibility for sales and profits. OPE products include chain saws for limbing, felling, and pruning trees: trimmers and brushcutters for grass cutting, mowing and clearing, and power blowers for blowing, collecting, and shredding leaves and debris.

Position

In order to reinforce our development team, we are looking for an enthusiastic Full Stack Web/App Developer speaking English & French.

The “Must Have” :

• Experience : minimum 2 years in a similar role
• Excellent relational and communications skills in French and English (proficiency speaking/writing level)
• Solid programming experience in web languages : HTML, TypeScript, CSS
• Programming experience in c#
• Solid experience with databases : SQL and No-SQL (MongoDB)
• Solid experience with hybrid (multiplatform, multiOS) application development
• Good knowledge of an existing development framework (Entity Framework, Django, Rails or other…)
• Knowledge of Git.

The “Nice to Have” :

• Experience with IOT devices (and mqtt)
• Experience with Entity Framework
• Experience with Angular
• Experience with Nativescript
• Experience with CI/CD and devOps
• Experience with JSON API
• Experience with Linux server administration
• Experience with cloud native solutions docker/kubernetes for deployment
• Knowledge and understanding communication protocols (TCP/IP, mqtt, …), interfaces.
