What impact will you have as Developer VBScript at NN? 

You’ll be coming to NN to strengthen the IT Delivery team that designs, develops and runs all of the applications for NN Belgium. We’re agile in the way we do this so that we are able to work together faster and smarter. You’ll find lots of room for taking the initiative in what can sometimes be a challenging context. But, together, we always achieve visible results.

You’ll be working in a small team, where there’s a good atmosphere and plenty of drive. We work intensively with our external partner. Collaboration with business analysts and a product owner fits naturally into our Agile way of working. This team is also involved in larger end-to-end projects within this field. 

• You will maintain the UL3 tool, using the VB Script tool (Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting Edition).  This is the tool that manages our customers’ insurance policies.
• If there’s an incident of some kind, then it’ll be up to you to find a solution: from a temporary workaround to a structural outcome. You’ll also find yourself diving into code, or checking a configuration to identify where the shoe is pinching.
• Whenever you propose a solution or improvement, you’ll need to take account of the end users and business objectives involved.
• You will analyse needs and translate them into technical requirements, developing new functions, conducting integration and acceptance tests, coding reviews
• You’ll develop and implement database modifications 
• Like all of the people you work with, you’ll be responsible for following up on infrastructure and security tasks for the various projects, including lifecycle management activities.

What do you have to offer as Developer VBScript? 

• A sense for application development and integration. 
• A relevant background in a complex IT development and support environment. 
• A major plus would be knowledge of VBScript, Oracle databases (minimum SQL knowledge), Apache Ant.
• You are able to communicate in a clear, persuasive manner with your coworkers, management and our external supplier. You can adjust your style of communication to suit the person you are speaking with, but one thing is a vital constant: whenever you’re talking about technical things, everything can understand you.
• You are fluent in English and Dutch or French.
• You learn quickly and are happy to share your knowledge with others. You like to stay abreast of the latest trends, so that you can propose innovations.
• You can act flexibly when an incident occurs so that a solution can be found quickly. But you also think in line with the interests of the business in the long run.
• You are interested in the insurance industry. 
• And, last but not least, you have a sense for an open culture, where working together and taking ownership are central.
