Data Engineer - Financial Risk

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines for collecting, processing, and storing financial risk data.
  • Integrate data from various sources to provide a comprehensive view of risk factors.
  • Design and implement data models supporting risk assessment and scenario analysis.
  • Optimize data pipelines for improved speed, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Establish data governance policies and ensure compliance with risk regulations like BCBS 239.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide data solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for data workflows and processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in data engineering, integration, and modelling in the financial services industry.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala, with experience in Apache Spark.
  • Familiarity with risk regulations, including BCBS 239, and financial risk management concepts.
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data warehousing, and data management tools.
  • Experience with data visualisation for presenting risk data effectively.
  • Strong analytically and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
