Cyber security engineer

Our client provides comprehensive environmental solutions in water, waste, and energy to both public and private clients.
 

  • Maintain and manage security systems, including 70 Fortinet firewalls and EDR (Cybereason and Crowdstrike) for 3000 endpoints.
  • Raise awareness among the user community.
  • Seek solutions (design, integration, and installation, hardware or software) for projects.
  • Perform new product installations.
  • Look for improvements in the infrastructure, such as Active Directory security, firewall rulesets, account security, tiered admin roles, etc.
  • Analyze security alarms and determine if they constitute a real incident, then handle them in ServiceNow.
  • Always be willing to lend a helping hand, but also capable of working independently.
  • Take on the role of project leader for smaller projects involving the business and other IT teams.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or Information Systems or equivalent through experience.
  • Approximately 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of one or more domains: IT infrastructure security, application security, or pentesting.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, AD, and networking.
  • Good knowledge of next-gen firewalls: Fortigate, Checkpoint, or Palo Alto.
  • Familiarity with EDR (Cybereason, Crowdstrike) and vulnerability management (Qualys, Accunetix, etc.).
  • Cloud experience, preferably with AWS, including understanding security groups and their purpose.
  • Knowledge of modern authentication mechanisms and providers: SAML, Oath, Okta, Ping, etc.
  • Given the international nature of the work, fluency in Dutch & English is essential, and a good level of French is a plus.
