Application Architect

Fluxys offers jobs in the energy sector. We put energy in motion!

For the Digital Lounge division at our headquarters in Brussels we’re looking for an Application Architect (m/f/x).

Fluxys is boosting its digital transformation and one of its initiatives involves setting up a Digital Lounge. Taking an innovative approach, the Digital Lounge will bring digital products to market in the form of minimum viable products. To this end, the Digital Lounge will bring together people from different backgrounds who we will guide and support via agile and design thinking methodologies. These colleagues will then promote the successful products outside the Digital Lounge.

As an Application Architect, you will work with the project team to develop the ICT solutions that our company needs. You will play an active part in designing future systems required by our business. To that end, you will continue to develop your knowledge of and expertise in application architecture relevant to our activities. For this, you can count on the support of the Architecture Office within the ICT team, with which you will work closely.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • master's degree in ICT or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge of ICT in the broad sense of the term as well as a strong interest in technological developments
  • At least five years of relevant experience
  • An ability to work independently and good organisational skills to ensure you can keep up with project priorities and schedules
  • Strong communication skills, a desire to learn and curiosity
  • Good knowledge of Dutch or French and English

Solution architecture

  • You will proactively identify which changes to the application architecture are needed to support the business strategy
  • You will be responsible for coordinating functional and technical aspects of the architecture, taking into account security aspects and compliance with ICT standards
  • You will be responsible for analysing the quality of the architectural solutions for products and projects
  • You may eventually become a member of the Architecture Office team

Vision & roadmap

  • You will determine the architecture for the solutions developed in the Digital Lounge, striking a balance between flexibility, rapid testing and long-term solutions with scale-up and integration into existing systems
  • You will document the established architecture

  • You will make sure that the cloud guidelines are applied
  • You will provide input to further develop these guidelines
